Do you want to feel like a real programmer even though you're really not? Well, it really doesn't hurt if you're just having fun. A fun part of being a programmer is hacking into a computer program. Tinkering and sometimes destroying the programs we are tapping into. If you ever need to customize a computer program in your PC then there's Resource Hacker to do it for you.

What's Resource Hacker?
Accoding to their site, Resource Hacker is a freeware utility to view, modify, rename, add, delete and extract resources in 32bit & 64bit Windows executables and resource files (*.res). It incorporates an internal resource script compiler and decompiler and works on all (Win95 - Win7) Windows operating systems. This means that a person can now go inside the computer program and customize any picture, sound and configuration the program is containing. Something like editing a website can have a definitive comparison with this method.

At this moment, Resource Hacker is on version 3.6 and this version is now allowing people to tap even in 64-bit computer programs but sadly the development stopped because the program is made using Delphi. Some old computer language which have a bunch of it's commands not supported by newer systems today. But anyways the program still work even in Windows 7.

How to use
Using this utility program is really very easy that even kids nowadays can do this themselves. But always teach your children to work with programs that they own and always keep a backup of these programs whenever necessary. To try this great program, let's hack into the Frozen Throne's .exe file and change it's loading screen picture into my face - Nerdy Nathan. The video below will show how it is done. So easy that there's no need for words to describe each step.

You can download the program here.

That's all for now~ Keep your heads stuffed!
