47 Ronin is a 2013 American fantasy action film depicting a fictional account of the forty-seven Ronin, a real-life group of masterless samurai in 18th-century Japan who avenged the murder of their master (stories, plays and other dramatic performances of the 47 Ronin story are commonly referred to as Chūshingura in Japan).

A bit late watching 47 Ronin, and was it worth it? Not so much~~If they ventured to the borders of fantasy film adaptation, they should have just done a major follow-up on the plot up until the end of the film~ The story should have FULLY revolved around honor, instead of adding a stray character just to appeal to other audiences to add the "fantasy" part of it. The characters were disappointing for me, because I really loved looking into character depth and what makes them who they are~ :( And to think these are renowned international cast~~ We even have Keanu Reeves inside~~ @_@ Don't even get me started

A strong caution to parents, this movie contains seppuku which is honorable suicide and you might have to explain some important concepts to your children. This is a rather sensitive issue~ Please make sure to differentiate cultures, and timelines so they may fully understand. I've read the accounts of their stories here and here. Try reading them so you may understand more on the story as well~

The Japanese cast got my attention and really~ You'll find them all too familiar~! Here are some of them:

Tadanobu Asano - Lord Kira, also noted for playing Hogun in Thor and Thor: The Dark World.
Rinko Kikuchi - Mizuki, also noted for playing Mako Mori in Pacific Rim.
Ko Shibasaki - Lady Asano, also noted for playing Mitsuko in Battle Royale Live Action.
Cary-Hiroyuki Tagawa - Shogun, also noted for playing Heihachi Mishima in Tekken and Shang Tsung in Mortal Kombat: Legacy.
Akanishi Jin - Chikara, also noted for being part of JPop group, KAT-TUN.
